SpaceX to be Paid in Cryptocurrency to Launch the “DOGE-1 Mission to the Moon”, Expected Next Year

The new commercial payload is all set to carry the mission by SpaceX to the moon, which is expected to launch in the first quarter of the following year. The company’s founder Elon Musk announced on the social media platform ‘Twitter’ about the mission’s payment mode, which will be accepted in cryptocurrency Dogecoin. It has created a sensation all over the world, as the payment mode in Cryptocurrency is known to be the first digital currency flying to the moon. The cryptocurrency ‘Dogecoin’ is a meme-inspired concept allegedly implied for the payment mode via space corporation.

“SpaceX launching satellite Doge-1 to the moon next year- Mission paid for in Doge- 1st crypto in space- 1st meme in space” – tweeted by Elon Musk.

There are a lot of people who are still confused about the concept of Dogecoin and how it came into action as a payment mode for SpaceX. Dogecoin is a bitcoin clone that is combined with the old “doge” meme in which Shiba Inu dogs are featuring. There was a time when Dogecoin sponsored NASCAR racer appeared, and now it is launching the ‘Doge’ spacecraft to the moon.

The “Doge-1 mission to the moon” is funded by Geometric Energy, which was announced on Sunday without disclosing any financial statements or value. A statement was released by Geometric Energy in which SpaceX Vice President of commercial sales ‘Tom Ochinero’ quoted- We’re excited to launch DOGE-1 to the moon!

The statement also added, “This mission will also demonstrate the application of cryptocurrency beyond Earth orbit and set the foundation for interplanetary commerce.”

The details of the mission are not quite clear, and just a fraction of the information is given. However, there is sufficient information about the mission, which will be carried on the Falcon 9 rocket, which will launch 88 pounds of the miniature satellite, which is given the name ‘Cubesat.’

One of the statements also said that the payload would be getting the lunar-spatial intelligence from cameras and sensors onboard with the help of computational systems and integrated communications. The data might be confusing, as it is not entirely clear, but somehow the figures state that the payload will be monitored and given the instructions through the given spatial intelligence.

There is no clear information provided by Geometric Energy on the request for simplification on statements.

Well, it is quite clear about the intentions of the payment mode, which must have been swirling around for quite some time. As Elon Musk also tweeted on April 1, 2021- “SpaceX is going to put a literal Dogecoin on the literal moon.” Some people may have taken it as a part of the April Fools day prank, whereas Musk officially released a statement about the next lunar mission to the moon funded with Dogecoin, and it came as a shock to the people.

According to the information tracked on CoinGecko.com about crypto data, the value of Dogecoin has raised over 800% during the last month, and now it is known as the fourth largest among digital currency with $73 billion of market capitalization.

It is to be said that Tesla Inc bought $1.5 billion worth of bitcoin in February and will also begin to accept it as the payment mode for electric cars. It is a big step towards the mainstream, which raised the bar of bitcoin with the record of approximately $62,000.

On the contrary, the recent statement of Elon Musk during a visit to the comedy sketch TV show “Saturday Night Live,” where he called ‘Dogecoin’ a ‘hustle,’ made it lose more than a third of its price on the very next day. The tweets of ‘Elon Musk’ have turned the phase of digital currency that started as a joke on the social media platforms in the year 2013. As Elon Musk joined the SNL gig as the host, the cryptocurrency began to rise heavily. In January, the Dogecoin was approx 1 cent, and on the next week, a single bitcoin was priced over 70 cents.

Elon Musk has been its biggest profile supporter with the help of his tweets, which increased the prices of cryptocurrency. After vouching for bitcoin and Dogecoin, people are now calling him “Dogefather.” There is no doubt that the initiatives of Elon Musk for space intelligence have been great, which may also lead to the point where it will establish a new era of cryptocurrency dealing in every form of business.
